About Us

About Our Organization

Originally formed in the early 1900’s, the Greene County Fish & Game Association has grown to become one of the largest Conservation Clubs in the Great State of Ohio. At our current 160-acre sportsmen’s complex in Southwest Ohio since 1951, we have grown to over 1,400 member families strong. We have been investing in the future of Conservation and Outdoor Sports one youth at a time for more than a century.

Whether you enjoy fishing at one of our two picturesque lakes, shooting archery on our wooded 3-D target course, SCTP trap shooting on our trap range, or kicking up ringnecks in one of our many CRP fields, the GCF&G has something special to offer every member and their family. We are a focused group with diverse interests. You can learn more about our 501-C4 chartered organization by visiting our club website at WWW.GCFNG.COM.

We offer fishing, archery, cowboy action, CMP, steel challenge events that are all open to the public as well as our Annual Greene County Fair Display, Fish Fry and Picnic. We work closely with the District 5 office of the Ohio Division of Wildlife as well as the local chapters of National Organizations such as NWTF, Ducks Unlimited, the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance and others as we partner in conservation efforts.

About Our Youth Event

Every year in the Fall, we host a youth pheasant hunt on our club grounds for member children between the ages of 10-17, to both share the legacy and to help insure the future of conservation and outdoor sports. We have seen a modest decline in participation at our youth events over recent years, like many clubs. As a result, we are working early and hard to make this year’s Rooster Run Event an incredibly special one and you can become part of that memory.

These days, on the second Saturday in November approximately 40 children and their families, as well as an event support staff of more than 75 total; Hunter Education Instructors, Mentors, and Dedicated Club Members will become one family and share the day together. We’ll teach, learn, mentor and bond. We’ll pray together, we’ll hunt together, and we’ll break bread together. It’s our proud heritage, our history, and our promise to do so.

Our group is a loyal one, we support those in and outside of our local community who support our efforts and our values. You could help us achieve our event goals this year by graciously providing us with a gift in exchange for recognition and/or advertising at our event. We have gift options that range from just $20 on up, all of which offer residual value to those members of our business community. We have a plethora of options that could place your signage at our event, your logo on our event T-shirts, Banner and more.

You are encouraged to contact our Event Coordinator and Club Secretary Tim Ankeney via E-mail at roosterrun@gcfng.com or via phone at (937) 532-9395 to learn more about this great event. We appreciate your valuable time, and we hope you have a prosperous year.
